I Can Cook: Jazzed Up Sardines

Sardinas is one of my all-time favorite dish when Mama wasn’t able to cook dinner or pag naubusan na ako ng pagkain (no food was left for me). There’s nothing like opening a can of sardines in tomato sauce and squeezing some calamansi on it. Viola! Instant meal!

Now here’s a jazzed-up version of serving sardines (still in tomato sauce) for those lazy days. I got this recipe from my father-in-law.

1 can of your favorite sardines in tomato sauce
Half an onion sliced
Chopped garlic
Calamansi juice
1 teaspoon Worcester sauce

1. Saute onions and garlic.
2. Add sardines. Let it cook for 2 minutes.
3. Add Worcester sauce and calamansi juice.
4. Serve with hot rice.

Who knew a little “worshersher” sauce would make a simple dish extra dee-lish?
